After a strong debut in the UK and selling over 600,000 units in its first three days in Japan, Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! have achieved 3 million units sold worldwide. This was revealed on the official Japanese Pokemon Twitter. It also noted, “As Nintendo Switch software, we updated the world’s best selling number for the first week of release!”
That, presumably, is a very rough and not very good translation to Pokemon Let’s Go being the best-selling Switch title in terms of first week sales. Regardless, for a title that isn’t technically the newest generation of Pokemon (since it remakes Pokemon Yellow while featuring elements from Pokemon GO), this is still a significant achievement. If you’re keen on trying the game out for yourself, check out GamingBolt’s official review here for more information.
With the momentum that Pokemon Let’s Go has, it should be interesting to see how Super Smash Bros. Ultimate performs when it releases on December 7th. Nintendo is also working on a “core series RPG” for Pokemon that will come to Switch in 2019. If you truly want the “authentic” Pokemon experience, then look for more information heading into the new year.
