Pokemon Sword and Shield has about 400 Pokemon between both games. Not the highest number compared to previous iterations but that’s still a lot of Pokemon to collect. As you go about your journey, many Pokemon will be awarded to you or caught without too much trouble (like your starter Pokemon). For others, you have to do a bit more digging.

Check out the video guide below for locations on each Pokemon in the game along with how to catch them. Some are story-related and won’t be encountered until much later so don’t worry. Make sure to check your Pokedex often for any missing Pokemon. For more information on Pokemon Sword and Shield, especially tips and tricks, head here.
