Prepare for trouble, make it double.

Since their announcement at the end of February, we’ve heard very little of Pokemon Sword and Shield. Sure, we got to learn a great deal about them when they were announced, but information on the games has been scant since then. That’s about to change soon, however, and we can expect new details on the RPG duo to emerge next month.

As per Serebii.net, Japanese magazine CoroCoro Ichiban is confirming that it will include the “latest information” on the games in its next issue, which will be out on Friday, 21st June. And that’s it- there’s nothing else that we can look at to figure out what this new information will be. It’s possible that they could be revealing some new stuff, but it’s also worth noting that the issue is out merely days after Nintendo’s E3 Direct (which will be held on June 11)- so in all likelihood, it’ll be the same information we’ll be hearing about then.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are due out exclusively for the Nintendo Switch later this year, but do not currently have release dates confirmed. It’s possible that Nintendo will reveal at E3 when exactly they will be launching.

In related news, not too long ago, Nintendo confirmed that while Pokemon Let’s Go leveraged the Switch’s abilities in console mode, Sword and Shield will be going back to being handheld-centric experiences. Read more on that through here.
