Pokemon Sword and Shield will be the first time a new Pokemon generation will be debuting on a console instead of a handheld, and they’re making some interesting changes to the series. Some of these changes haven’t sat well with the Pokemon fanbase, but with the promise of new changes and additions both big and small, Game Freak are billing it as the beginning of a new era of Pokemon.

Nintendo recently released a short 30 second trailer making that same promise. Showing a mixture of live action and sprites of several Pokemon from previous generations through the years, the trailer ends with the look of various Pokemon – new and old – in Sword and Shield, and the promise of the beginning of a new era. Check it out below.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are out on November 15 for the Nintendo Switch. Check out their recent overview trailer through here to get a deeper look at the game.
