Like many Nintendo games, Pokemon Sword and Shield has received its own overview trailer. The Japanese language version is currently live with other versions likely to follow soon. However, it still presents a pretty good look at what can be expected in the newest generation of games. Check it out below.

Along with new starter Pokemon – and new Pokemon in general for the Galar Region – Pokemon Sword and Shield introduces some new mechanics. There are open areas where players can explore freely and encounter random Pokemon (with some significantly stronger ones to be discovered). Gigantamaxing allows for super-sizing Pokemon and grants them new abilities.

You can also partake in Max Raid Battles against large Pokemon with four other trainers, allowing for some nice co-op mechanics. Camping, a quest system and much more are also included though the all Pokemon from previous games aren’t present (resulting in issues with the National Dex). Pokemon Sword and Shield is out on November 15th for Nintendo Switch – stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
