After the release of Pokemon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS last year, the Pokemon Trading Card Game will be entering the sixth generation itself- the Pokemon TCG: XY Expansion hits stores on February 5.

The XY Expansion Pack will be channeling the games that it based on, including new Fairy Type Pokemon, Fairy Type moves, Fairy Type Energy cards, and all new Mega-Evolutions. Players will, as always, either be able to purchase pre-made decks, or buy booster packs that come in packs of nine cards.

Since its release, the Pokémon Trading Card Game has shipped over 20 billion cards across 74 countries, making it one of the most successful trading card games of all time. The XY expansion set continues the series’ tradition of keeping up with the latest trends in the mainline Pokemon games.

Pokemon X and Y themselves released on the 3DS last year to great critical and commercial success. You can check out our review here.
