While the success of Pokémon X & Y in Japan – and around the world – is a thing to marvel at, Siliconera has uncovered data from Media Create, which brings us weekly sales figures on games in Japan, that indicates that the 3DS Pokemon release has less staying power than previous games Black & White.

While Pokemon Black & White saw a sales drop of 70 percent in its second week, Pokemon X & Y saw a decrease of 75 percent for the same. It debuted and sold roughly 4 million copies in its first two days, but sales for the game dropped to 473,000 in the second week for Japan. Yes, there’s only a 5 percent difference but this is more about lifetime sales, in which Pokemon Black & White ranks quite high.

Is it a significantly better game than Black & White? Check out our official review of Pokemon X & Y here for more info.
