Prey Getting New Modes in New Update

There's a lot of new content coming to the game, actually.

PREY

We were expecting a new Prey expansion ala Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. This is… not that. it still seems pretty cool, though. What we are getting is new free DLC, and new updates, all of which add a fair few modes to the game.

First up, a new mode that is basically a roguelike, where the entire world is procedurally generated, so each run is different, and each death can lead to total lack of progress. It is an idea that I can see fitting surprisingly well with the kind of game that Prey is. There is also a new asymmetric multiplayer mode, where four players try to take on and hunt one player playing as a Typhon that can mimic anything in the environment- it’s basically Prop Hunt, but now canonized. Finally, there is also a brand new survival mode, plus a New Game Plus mode, added to the game.

The most impressive thing is the sheer extent of new content they are adding to the game a year after launch- Bethesda’s post launch support, at least, is something not to be sneezed at.
