2017’s Prey was a game that really just came out of nowhere. It used the name of a previous game by a different studio that had nothing to do with said game’s plot or characters. More over, instead of being a more straightforward shooter, it was an immersive sim, surprising many. While it came out a time when Bethesda largely stopped announcing sales data, little has been said about it outside a free multiplayer expansion that came at the end of 2018. But it seems there could be more, if a new listing means anything.
UK retailer website ShopTo randomly popped up a listing for something called Prey VR. Now, this listing was not up for very long at all, but the internet is a shift place and the listing has been circulating the web ever since (you can see it below). As you can see, there’s little here outside a name. It’s not even clear if this is a VR version of the Arkane game or a side game of some kind.
Listings like this don’t always mean a lot, as bogus listings come and go all the time. But still, you never know, and Bethesda has randomly used the Prey name before after all. We’ll just have to stay tuned for any information that will come.
