Developer Straight4 Studios and publisher GIANTS Software have announced that racing game Project Motor Racing is coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 25. The title will also feature full mod support across all platforms, and is currently available for pre-orders via Steam, Microsoft Store, and PlayStation Store.

Project Motor Racing has been described by Straight4 Studios as a “no compromises” game designed for enthusiasts of motorsport racing. In the announcement press release, game design director Austin Ogonoski said, “The driving physics are key, of course, but the sim is built around racing.”

Along with announcing the release date, the studio has also released a trailer for Project Motor Racing, focusing on the game’s Career Mode. Going by the trailer, players will need to deal with all kinds of things, including off-track aspects like sponsors, repairs, and even budgets.

“We wanted to capture the harsh reality of pro motorsport: Budgets. Repairs. Sponsors. Failed overtakes that don’t just wreck your car but your whole season,” continued Ogonoski. “Your career in Project Motor Racing is motorsport with consequences.”

To ensure smooth support for mods across PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, Project Motor Racing will make use of the official GIANTS Editor for the creation and sharing of mods through the in-game UGC portal. The studio has also confirmed that it will be ensuring that mods work properly across platforms by testing each and every mod by the game’s developers.

Project Motor Racing taps into the same powerhouse modding ecosystem as Farming Simulator,” says CSO and head of publishing at GIANTS Software Boris Stefan. “Racing modders will be able to tweak, tune, and transform their experience however they like.”

Project Motor Racing got a trailer back in April where it showcased the emphasis on simulation-styled racing gameplay. The trailer also showcased a player experiencing the game with a full-fledged sim racing setup, complete with multiple monitors and high-end peripherals that can emulate in-game driving with real-world feedback.

At launch, Project Motor Racing will feature more than 70 vehicles across 10 racing classes. These vehicles can be taken on a spin across 27 different track layouts. The game also features fully-licensed vehicles from car manufacturers like Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and Audi.

“This is not about driving,” said Straight4 Studios CEO Ian Bell when the game was first announced. “It’s about racing. With our streamlined approach and what we consider to be the most authentic handling model we’ve ever created, Project Motor Racing is both a nod to our genre’s rich legacy and a big step into the next era of simulation.”

“This is the next gear for GIANTS Software: Moving forward, we will be recognized not only as the creators of Farming Simulator but also as the publisher of Project Motor Racing,” said CEO at GIANTS Software Christian Ammann. “Our strong collaboration with Straight4 gives me full confidence that we’ll deliver an exceptional experience for all sim racing enthusiasts!”

When Project Motor Racing comes out, there will also be a Year 1 bundle that players can buy to get their hands on additional content as it is released.
