Project Treasure Revealed for Nintendo Wii U

Co-op action title emphasizes treasure hunting and tomb raiding.

Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct introduced a relatively unexpected new IP – Bandai Namco’s Project Treasure, a third-person co-op action title that focused on treasure hunting with friends.

As seen in the above reveal trailer, you’ll fight through some decrepit tombs filled with mummies and other undead to retrieve the treasure within. Four main characters were revealed including a nimble female fighter with a katana and a large man wielding a bazooka that could be fired in first person. Project Treasure emphasizes co-op, as you’ll work to defeat monsters and haul treasure out of crypts, but there seems to be a drive to outperform your friends in the process.

More details for Project Treasure will be revealed in the Summer (possibly at Nintendo’s E3 Direct presentation?) so it will likely have a different name by the time it actually releases. What are your thoughts on the gameplay though? Let us know in the comments below.
