The ban on Sony importing PS3’s into the Netherlands has been lifted. The embargo was put in place in february after electronics company LG challenged Sony on the grounds of alleged patent infringment regarding the PS3’s Blu-ray technology. Sony uses its Dutch facilites to import consoles for most of Europe, meaning that if the ban had continued it could have has far wider implications. LG is now facing a large fine for damages. Sony still faces legal problems in the US regarding its Blu-ray technology.
