Next-gen PS Eye Specs

Once again the rumour mill turns, speculating that the PS4 will come bundled with a new version of the Playstation Eye camera. Commentators have speculated on the Eye 2.0 featuring hand and head tracking in the vein of Microsoft’s Kinect sensor and, though such features may be unveiled on the 20th, Sony are hardly going to show the whole picture this early on.

The Final Console Name

We’ve been referring to Sony’s next gen affair as the PS4 for sake of continuity, but what the system will actually be called is anyone’s guess. The Vita, when it was announced back in January 2011, was initially known as the Next Generation Portable (NGP), only to have its name swiftly altered at E3 that year. A similar thing could happen with the PS4 and its suggested project name “Orbis.”

A Confirmed Release Date

We’ll probably get a vague release window and, considering how accurate predictions may prove for this big February reveal, there’s more than a chance that the announcement will coincide with the holiday/2014 release that is on everyone’s lips. That said, we won’t get the exact day so early on, so patience is once more a necessary virtue.
