The PS4’s pace of sales is frankly insane, and mostly unprecedented- the Wii was selling faster, but the Wii also ran out of steam very quickly, and its rate of sales could not be sustained. I suppose a lot of people have the same kind of fear with the PS4 too- can it maintain this kind of performance over the coming years? It’s less than three years old right now.
According to Sony’s Andrew House (via DualShockers), the console may be close to its peak as far as sales performance goes. Speaking at the Sony Investor’s Day event held in Tokyo, House said that the console may be close to its peak now- but he also said that he sees more ways to maximize the console’s sales performance.
One of those ways may be the PS4’s first party lineup, in which House stated a lot of confidence. He said he expects a lot from the first party games- though whether this means that the games themselves are expected to do well, or that they will just add to the PS4’s sales, is unclear right now.
