PS4 Devkit Footage Shows the New XMB in Action

Look! It's fast now!

This new video posted by CVG shows us more of the PlayStation 4’s elusive UI; whereas we have seen a lot of it for the Xbox One (and it looks great, incidentally), we haven’t seen as much of the PS4 UI. Now, devkit footage shows us just a little bit of the PlayStation 4’s menu: dubbed PlayStation Dynamic Menu, the new interface is a successor to the XMB, and you can sort of see that in the horizontal organization of information that it favors.

It also seems to be pretty fast, with none of the lag or loading times that were associated with the PS3 interface (especially as the generation went on, and more and more got added to the console) plaguing it, at least not just yet. It looks like it combines form and function together, and it should be interesting to see how it evolves over the next few years.

The PlayStation 4 launches November 15, 2013.
