PS4 Exclusive The Order: 1886 Video Introduces the Lycans

Ready At Dawn shows off some impressive tech. And werewolves. Lots of werewolves.

Ready At Dawn just doesn’t stop. Their on-stage demo of The Order: 1886 at this year’s E3 may still be fresh in our minds, but the company has just released the second video in their ongoing behind-the-scenes series via the PlayStation Blog. This one is entitled “The Evolution of the Half-Breeds,” and focuses on the Lycans, the werewolf-esque enemy we saw in the stage demo.

It’s a pretty impressive video in which Ready at Dawn discusses the concept behind the Lycans and the design process behind their look. The Lycans were designed to look real, and still resemble their human forms. The most impressive bit that the video touches on is the technology behind the transformations. The tech allows Ready At Dawn to manipulate the characters in real time, making the hair growth, transforming skeleton, and anatomy changes all the more impressive. It’s good stuff, especially if you’re interested in the technology behind the game, or the ideas that influenced the enemy design.

The Order: 1886 is set to release on February 20th, 2015. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more as it develops.
