After quite the prolonged wait for a release date for the survival horror PS4 exclusive Until Dawn, Sony has finally announced when the title will be available. Gamers will be able to start matching wits with a psycho killer and decide who lives and who dies beginning on August 25.
The announcement was made on the official Sony Playstation blog and was accompanied by a new “launch date” trailer. This brings a little bit more of a look at the game when compared to other trailers Sony and Supermassive games have put together in order to generate interest in a game that originally started out as a title that was supposed to be a Playstation Move compatible game. For those not familiar with Until Dawn, the game is said to actually be shaped by the decisions players make when talking about trying to avoid a murderer who is stalking a group of eight friends out at a remote getaway.
In order to give the game a horror movie kind of feel, the developers even managed to get Hayden Panettiere to lend her likeness and voice to the title. Sony also announced that Panettiere won’t be the only big name actor in the game, thanks to the addition of Peter Stormare to the cast. The company also announced that those who preorder the game starting today will get some free content that includes a new couple out on the mountain. Until Dawn will be available exclusively for the PS4 on August 25, check out the video below but be warned it may not be suitable for all ages.
