Yakuza Kiwami 2 had only recently received a new extended story trailer as well as a gameplay trailer. It seems that SEGA is determined to bring over the Yakuza franchise to the new generation on the Dragon Engine in the best way they can.
The game is now slated to have a demo launched in November in Japan. Other promotional strategies adopted include airing video commercials of the game across various cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, and more. The franchise is already quite popular in Japan and the extra exposure should help it reach a wider audience, some of whom may be glad to know that a beloved PS2 classic is now being remade.
Furthermore, there will be a signing event held in Dotonbori, Osaka and also a pre-launch broadcast that will be aired the day before the official game release. We can also expect to hear more news of these in the coming days. Yakuza Kiwami 2 follows the other remake Yakuza Kiwami, and after this we can expect to see Yakuza 6 in the west which will move the franchise forward.
The game is set to release in Japan for the PlayStation 4 on December 7th. As of now, there is no news regarding the dates of a western release.
