Hohokum is a an upcoming video game under development at Honeyslug Studios for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. The game puts the player in the role of a serpent creature called the “Long Mover”. GamingBolt recently got the chance to interview Ricky Haggett from Honeyslug Games and Richard Hogg who is collaborating with the game’s development.

Given that they are working on the PlayStation 4 for a while now, we asked them about their experience with Sony’s console and whether they came across any kind of limitations.

“It’s pretty much a dream to develop for because it’s just got so much memory and it’s so fast,” Ricky explains. “We don’t really have any issues at all with performance on PS4, so it’s amazing. It just lets us throw as much art and animation as we could ever really want to. It’s fantastic.”

Richard chipped in with his thoughts adding “it’s funny, because as a gamer I don’t really care about performance. Most of the games I play run on any standard old laptop, because that’s the sort of games I’m interested in, I guess. However, as someone making a game we really appreciate, even for a game like ours that you wouldn’t look at and you wouldn’t think is particularly taxing, that we can have so much art and animation.”

“The PS4 side of things has been super smooth. Obviously trying to fit all of the art and animation onto PS3 and PC has taken more doing than on PS4. PS4 is a huge leap up in terms of what it can do,” Ricky added.

Hohokum is due this summer. Stay tuned for more news and updates.

This is just a snippet of our interview with Honeyslug Games and we will have more in the coming days.
