PS4 Pro Sales Pass 500,000 Units In Japan

PS4 Pro sales do not account for much of the total PS4 sales, but has still crossed an important milestone.

According to sales charts released by Media Create, the PS4 Pro has now sold over 500,000 units in Japan. While this is not an exceptional sales figure, it is to be expected for a console that is dedicated to “4K” gaming.

The PS4 Pro has currently sold a total of 511,255 units and this milestone was achieved in just over a year since the console was launched late last year. The console is likely to see a slight boost in sales with the holiday season specially givem how it’s going up against Microsoft’s Xbox One X.

Overall, the PS4’s sales has just overtaken that of the PS Vita with the former having sold a total of 5,775,515 units and the latter having sold 5,765,869 units in Japan. As Sony is not focusing its attention on the PS Vita, sales for it have decreased dramatically.

Anyway, it remains to be seen if the PS4 Pro is able to find a wider audience in its home country or if it will remain an option for a small crowd.
