PS4: Sony Kicks off Their ‘For The Players Since 1995’ Campaign

Some Sony nostalgia for all.

Posted By | On 22nd, Oct. 2013

Earlier today, Sony released the first in what is planned to be a series of nostalgia-inspiring videos to build hype for the upcoming release of the PlayStation 4. The campaign was inspired by a recent hashtag trend, #PlayStationMemories, which made it’s way around the entire globe earlier this year.

The goal of this campaign is to target all Sony gamers, whether they’ve been fans since the PlayStation’s release in 1995, or are brand new to the Sony experience, having jumped in with a PS3. Or even if you’ve never owned a Sony console. The point here is that Sony is well aware of the loving memories so many gamers have associated with their favorite games and systems, and they want to drudge some of that old magic up for you.

And it seems Sony isn’t alone in this endeavor. Companies like Dominos have even donated old pizza boxes from the years that are being depicted in these videos. Publishing companies have given the licenses to tidbits of games that they hold exclusive controll over as well. It’s nice to see so much unification brought on in the gaming industry, no matter it’s intent.
