The latest system software update for the PS4 has just been made available today. The new system software update 5.55 improves performance of the system and can be downloaded right away by any owners of the console.

The new update’s file size is about 460 MB which is larger than usual, but it’s not a huge download by any means. Keep in mind that the update will not improve performance of any games in any way whatsoever, and only affects the performance of the system itself. The update will be available to download as soon as you log into your PS4. North American users can visit this link to download the update and users from Europe can download it from here.

While there may not be any noticeable changes, it’s definitely worth getting such updates as soon as you can just for the improved stability. We’ll have to see what kind of major changes the next big update will bring.
