PS4 to be priced lesser than the launch PS3 – Report

The PS3 launched at a whopping $599 price point and its arguable that it was the reason why Sony isn’t in the top position in the current generation, however, they won’t be making the same mistake with the PS4, as a new report has come out suggesting that the console will be priced decently.

The article by The Times, which is said to be a reputable outlet, reveals that it will be priced at 300 pounds in the UK, and this isn’t a yen conversation, the article’s author later clarified on Twitter.

This price has been found out via leaked internal documents. The article reads: “Industry sources and leaked internal documents suggest that Sony is considering pricing the new device at about £300, more than £100 cheaper than the starting cost of its predecessor, the PlayStation 3.”

It’s not clear whether the US model will be priced at $460 or not, but a direct conversion isn’t the right way to go because of taxes the Europeans have to face.

The Japanese price point was revealed to be 40,000 yen. The console will be announced on February 20 at a Sony event.
