The PS4 will probably be getting some major changes with the release of update 6.0, which is now in the works. While we wait for that update, Sony has now released system software update 5.56, and it is now available to download on the PlayStation Network.

As for what exactly the update does, all that’s stated is that it improves system performance, which is pretty much what’s usually stated with such updates. The download size of the update is 460.1 megabytes, and it’s currently available to download both in North America and Europe.

You might not actually notice any changes at all, since these updates mostly bring some very minor changes- well, this one does at any rate, so much so that Sony didn’t feel the need to describe what exactly it does to improve the system’s performance, which it supposedly does.

As we stated before, the next time we’ll be seeing any significant changes will probably be with update 6.0.
