PSN Is Down Worldwide, Sony Is Investigating

In other news, birds are immigrating to the south for the winter.

PSN goes down so often now that I’m not sure it’s news anymore. And yet, it’s something that you should be aware of, particularly if you had plans to play some Destiny or Call of Duty– all PSN services seem to be down worldwide. This includes not just online play, but also the PSN Store, PS Vue, and PS Now, among other things.

This is not related to the maintenance earlier today, either- The PSN status page shows all servers offline, regardless of your region, and does not mention any maintenance work as the cause for the outage, as it would if that had been the case. The Ask PlayStation account itself has admitted to the outage, noting that Sony is aware of the issues, and that it is looking into them.

Sony really need to do something about this, and about the frequency with which PSN is down in general as well- when you are charging people $60 a year for the service, you need to ensure that the service is worth charging that kind of money for.
