The PlayStation Network will be shutting down for a routine maintenance check on January 17th, Thursday, Sony has announced via the EU PlayStation Blog.

That means you will not be able to access PSN via your PS3, PS Vita, PSP or any other means. “This maintenance will start at approximately 4.00pm GMT and last until around 4.00am GMT on 18th January,” explains Sony.

You will be unable to access PSN, but online play, and access to apps will be available given that you’ve logged in the PSN before the maintenance starts, so be sure to do that.

Other features that will be unavailable will be the PS Store, Account Management, and Home.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your support,” says Sony.

So there you go. Log in to PSN before the maintenance begins on Thursday if you still want to be able to play Uncharted or Killzone online.

Stay tuned for more updates.
