Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls director David Cage has been chosen to receive la Légion d’honneur or the Legion of Honour from France. This is the country’s highest decoration and Cage will be the only game developer in history to receive it. French Minister Delegate for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Innovation and the Digital Economy Fleur Pellerin will present the medal on March 14th.

As the founder of Quantic Dream, Cage has had a hand in some of the most offbeat and controversial games in the past decade. Starting from Omikron: The Nomad Soul, Cage became a AAA developer when he released Heavy Rain for the PlayStation 3. His recently released game Beyond: Two Souls, which stars Ellen Paige and Willem Dafoe managed to sell 1 million units.

Cage is currently working on an unannounced exclusive for the PlayStation 4 which will use a brand new engine. Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
