Nintendo and Atlus have announced a remaster of classic RPG Devil Summoner: Raiduou Kuzunoha vs The Soulless Army. The remake, dubbed Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, was announced with a trailer during Nintendo’s recent Direct. Check it out below.
Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army puts players in the shoes of apprentice detective Raido Kuzunoha in the year Taisho 20 in the Capital City. Alongside investigating crimes, Kuzunoha is also secretly a Devil Summoner, with the ability to summon devils to aid him in and out of battles.
Much like other games under the greater Shin Megami Tensei umbrella, Raidou Remastered will allow players to negotiate with and befriend demons that can then be summoned in a fight to take on enemies. The demons can also be used outside of battles in order to help players progress through the game. An example shown off in the trailer is Raidou using Jack Frost’s freezing abilities to form a makeshift bridge over a water drainage system.
When you get into a fight, you can summon demons and take on enemies in a real-time combat system. Bringing the appropriate demon into a fight is an important thing here, since elemental weaknesses can be taken advantage of to quickly kill off stronger enemies.
Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is coming to Nintendo Switch on June 19.
