Rainbow Six Siege Developers Have Considered Adding A K-9 Operator

Would you kill a dog?

Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow Six Siege is the game that just never stops. It’s the one game you can point to as what a properly maintained games-as-a-service title can become. Because of that, it’s managed to keep an incredibly impressive playerbase and seen multiple content updates over the years. But you know what it hasn’t had? A dog as an Operator. Well, believe or not, that’s actually something the developers have thought about.

The eSport Director for Siege once said they eventually envision the game having 100 Operators (they are currently halfway there with 50). Apparently, according to a Q&A video posted by Wired with Ubisoft’s Alexander Karpazis, they also thought about having one on four legs. When asked about a K-9 unit being in Siege, he actually said that they’d thought about it, but also said they stopped short. The reason? Well, he posed the question to the question giver: “But to answer your question, I have to ask you a question: are you okay with shooting a dog?”

I guess we’re to take away that shooting a dog is a bit too much for those working on Siege. Well, you can take from that what you will, and watch the full video below for several similarly goofy questions about the game. Rainbow Siege is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
