Rainway Streaming App Hits Open Beta January 20

Just imagine that's the PC version in the picture.

Remember that buzz around this little streaming app called Rainway, which allegedly would allow you to painlessly stream your PC games to a variety of platforms, from other PCs to the Nintendo Switch? Well it’s popped back up again. We now know that they’re launching an open beta and have a new trailer to show us how simple it aims to be.

The open beta comes to Android devices and web browsers on January 20, 2018 with no further news on when we can expect any more support. It was revealed on Twitter however that the developers recommend a minimum of 12mbps upload speed for the smoothest, best performing streaming.

Of course, this is far from the first company to try to make a name off of video game streaming, which see a lot more problems than streamed video due to factors which can cripple a game, like input lag. Hopefully the configurability and technology of Rainway stands up. Are you excited to bring your PC games to your phone, or do you still remember being burned by OnLive? Let us know in the comments.
