The Ratchet and Clank franchise has found its way into the hearts of millions of gamers around the globe, ranging from the young to the old, such is its appeal. Well, you will be very glad to learn that Insomniac Games are still going ahead with the development of the newest iteration of the title and they have also come forward with some information to help clarify what exactly fans will be getting.

Responding to fan enquires by way of Twitter, Insomniac Games have confirmed that the PlayStation 4 exclusive title is indeed a complete re-imagining of the property and not simply an updated rehashing of an old game.

The tweet that confirmed this reads, “It’s a complete re-imagining. NOT a remake.” They expanded on the matter a little more by emphasising that the game would not be a Q1 release, which was an assumption that was apparently made by many. One fan thought they recalled a statement relating to a Q1 release, to which Insomniac replied, “2015. We never said Q1”.

With many gamers already getting sick and tired of seeing remakes on the 8th generation hardware, a collective sigh of relief can be let out because finally, after all this time, we’re getting a truly unique but a Ratchet and Clank game that is true to its roots.
