Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition

Rayman is officially back, in a manner of speaking, as Ubisoft finally announced Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition – a definitive compilation of the first game’s many versions. It’s out today on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC (via Steam and Ubisoft Connect) and Nintendo Switch.

Developed by Digital Eclipse, it includes Rayman on MS-DOS, PlayStation 1, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance and Atari Jaguar, plus a “long-lost” prototype for the Super NES. And while the old-school gameplay is no joke, even for platforming fans, there are new features like infinite lives, rewind, and even the option to unlock levels instantly.

Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition also packs plenty of additional content with Rayman’s New Levels, Rayman 60 Levels, and Rayman By His Fans, resulting in over 120 more levels. That’s on top of sharper visuals and a revamped soundtrack, but as with Digital Eclipse’s other retro releases, you can also dive into the making of Rayman. Design documents, concept art, and more abound with the original team providing insight in 50+ minutes of interviews.

Of course, for those seeking a bigger Rayman platforming experience, a remake of Rayman Legends is allegedly in the works for later this year. There are also rumors of the next mainline Rayman, but concrete plans have yet to surface.
