Musical levels also make cameos.

Ubisoft showcased a new trailer for Rayman Legends, which serves to bring the new character, Viking chick Barbara in to wreck havoc and rescue Rayman before they totes chill out and meet Globox in some underwater haven. Because that’s what strangers who become immediate friends do. Look it up.

The trailer also served to showcase some new competitive multiplayer modes, such as players working together to pummel a large ball through a goal. The music levels, which require timing and a keen ear, also abound in the trailer. Check it out above.

Rayman Legends has been the subject of much controversy over the past year, due to Ubisoft’s decision to delay the game and release is on PS Vita, PS3 and Xbox 360 along with Wii U…at a time when the Wii U version was already finished. This angered fans and the developer, Ubisoft Montpellier, greatly but a challenge mode was later released to appease Wii U gamers.

Rayman Legends is currently set to release on August 30th in Europe and September 3rd in North America.
