Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Give You A Selfie Cam

But it will make sense contextually.

Red Dead Redemption (3)

Much like Grand Theft Auto 5 did, the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 will also give players a selfie cam, GameSpot confirms. The camera will let you take a picture of Arthur Morgan, and can be used at any time, including, presumably, in the game’s first person mode.

However, the actual picture that is produced with this “selfie” mode is going to be different than how it is in Grand Theft Auto 5, or really, than how you expect a selfie to be. It’s taken from much farther off, with the implication being that a tripod was set up to take Arthur’s photo- which, of course, contextually makes sense, when you consider that Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in the old west, when pictures couldn’t be taken by mobile phones you carry on your person at all times. As you might expect, you do get multiple poses to take your picture in, obviously.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26. Red Dead Online, meanwhile, launches as a public beta – initially – in November.
