Gunfire Games’ Remnant 2 isn’t too stingy about players farming for materials – it’s encouraged since you can reroll worlds to fight bosses again, discover new items and much more. You’ll need all the materials you can get, especially with how much gear and weapons there are to upgrade and buy. That’s not including unlocks for new Archetypes, Mutators, consumables and much more.
Fortunately, throughout all the different worlds, there are some pretty solid locations to farm materials. Here are some of them, complete with tips to increase your overall yield of Scrap, Relic Dust, Lumenite Crystals and more.
Best Farming Locations
Dormant N’erudian Facility
Though not as efficient as the Labyrinth farm, the Dormant N’erudian Facility is decent for quick runs to get Scrap, Relic Dust and Lumenite Crystals. It has a healthy amount of enemies and some Elites, and if you complete the Quarantine Event, the powerful Siphoner Trait becomes unlocked, granting up to 3 percent Lifesteal when fully upgraded. Take the Enigma to clear out smaller enemies quickly, saving its arc mines for bigger targets. Overall, a decent farm if you get N’Erud as your first world, though it’s far from the best.
Labyrinth
After spawning into the Fractured Ingress (where the giant portal is visible), take the stairs to the left. Keep to the left side until you reach an area with statues. Several smaller enemies will arrive before an Elite drops in. Slay this Elite to get Scrap and Lumenite Crystals. It also drops Relic Fragments, which are equipped on your Relic for small boosts.
You can then return to the Worldstone and rest to reset it. However, there’s a faster way to farm it. Take the portal in the back left, which leads to Yaesha. Enter inside and then return to the Labyrinth. The Elite will spawn much closer by, allowing you to kill it faster. It does serious damage up close, so take it down quickly. Return through the portal to Yaesha and rinse, repeat, to farm obscene amounts of Scrap and Lumenite Crystals.
Corrupted Harbor
Available in the last world, Root Earth, the Corrupted Harbor is home to several Elites, which makes for a great Lumenite Crystal farm. You’ll need some hefty damage to take down the larger Root foes and a decent crowd-clearing weapon for the smaller enemies. It’s also easy to get downed if you’re not careful while dodging or have enough damage mitigation. This kind of farm is best with more than one person or while using the Handler (since your dog companion can revive you).
Once you’ve killed all the enemies, simply go back to the Worldstone and interact with it, or go to the next area and then return to respawn everything and resume the farm.
Blood Moon Event
Available in Yaesha, this event is very good for farming Blood Moon Essence, which sells for 125 Scrap each. First, head to the Forbidden Grove and check if a Blood Moon is active. If so, look around in the sky. You should see some small wisp-like creatures flying around. Shoot them to obtain Blood Moon Essence, which is automatically gathered. Leave the area and return to respawn them, and when you’ve earned enough, go back to Ward 13 and sell them for Scrap.
Farming Tips
If you’re embarking on a farming run, choose the Explorer. You need the Broken Compass, obtained from the final boss in the campaign, to craft the Golden Compass Engram to unlock it. Its Prime Perk is Lucky, granting a 10 percent chance for additional items and rare drops when slaying tougher enemies. At level 5, it goes up to 25 percent chance and at level 10, it’s 35 percent.
Those seeking more Scrap and Relic Fragments can also take advantage of the perks Metal Explorer for a 10 percent increased drop chance to currency, Metals and ammo, and Prospector, where Relic Fragments can drop at higher quality.
Aside from that, you’ll want the Scavenger’s Bauble, which drops in Yaesha. It increases the amount of Scrap picked up by 50 percent.
