KNIFE DURABILITY

Resident Evil 2 Remake_01

Speaking of knives- no, knives aren’t a new item in Resident Evil 2 of course. They’re practically ancient by now, as far as this series is concerned, but Resident Evil 2 puts a new spin of them that the original did not have. What’s that? Durability. Knives are now a limited resource, and can break very quickly, which means you’re now always on the lookout for more knives as well. Additionally, when you stab zombies, the knife also remains buried in their flesh, which means you have to kill them and recover the knife from their corpse manually.
