Resident Evil 2 Remake Will Be Out ‘Soon’, Says Developer

Actually seeing even a trailer for the game before then might be nice, Capcom.

Capcom has announced a remake for Resident Evil 2, but… that’s it. That’s all we know. It was announced, we know it exists, we know nothing else, we haven’t seen nor heard a peep of it since the initial announcement. And yet, speaking with Collider, Resident Evil 2 programmer Hiroyuki Kobayashi said that it will be releasing ‘soon’.

‘Soon’ here is of course completely relative- it could mean the next day or week or month (unlikely), it could mean sometime in the next year (far likelier), or just sooner relative to what Capcom expected (no way to know).

That’s all we can say here- we don’t know when it’s coming, but we can only hope it is sometime within the next year or so. And that Capcom actually show us a bit more of the game than we have seen so far- which shouldn’t be hard, since we literally have seen nothing of it so far.
