Resident Evil 2 is almost here, and refreshingly enough, in an age where every new game has to be at least a few dozen hours to pass muster, it seems like it will stick to a concise length. Speaking at a launch event for the game held in Dubai, director Kazunori Kadoi and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi have confirmed that the final play time of the game will be 10 hours across each character.
That said, it is important to remember that each character has some overlap in terms of story and sequences with other characters, so each playthrough will not be entirely unique, and all playthroughs subsequent to the first one should be a bit shorter. Nonetheless, it’s a great length for a game of this nature, and as mentioned, it’s good to see Capcom isn’t trying to pad out the length of the game with pointless MacGuffins or fetch quests.
Resident Evil 2 launches on January 25 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If your are excited for the game, make sure to check out the newest screenshots for it, which show off, er, high definition tofu.
