Resident Evil Revelations 2_Episode 3

Capcom’s episodic hit Resident Evil Revelations will be coming to Sony’s PlayStation Vita handheld on August 18, Sony announced today on the PlayStation Blog. Although this marks a highly delayed release for the Vita version of the game (the season ended on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC back in April), for those of you who have been holding out, wanting to play the game on Sony’s under appreciated handheld, this should be good news.

The game will be released digitally only, and has been outsourced by Sony’s Third Party Productions Team to  Frima Studio; Sony’s previous attempts at outsourcing third party games like this have been less than stellar (most notably, Capcom’s Ultra Street Fighter IV released for PS4 earlier this year), so let’s at least hope that this one goes well.

You will be getting extra content on the Vita version, which should hopefully compensate for the long wait- on top of the four core episodes, you’ll also get two bonus episodes known as “The Struggle” and “Little Miss.” Together, these two episodes flesh out the story in an indispensable way.

At least it looks like Sony still remembers the Vita exists. For whatever it is worth.
