Resident Evil Revelations was a great game back when it released, and one of the truest, best Resident Evil game that we’ve had in years. It was also, much to Capcom’s surprise, actually successful. So much so that they are now doing another one. And if you have been curious about how this new one will turn out, if it will suffer from the kind of dilution of quality that the mainline Resident Evil series has over the years due to an increased focus on action over horror, well, this trailer does a little bit to assuage those fears.
It’s still possible for the game to be a bait and switch, of course. It’s still possible for Capcom to fuck it up, and honestly, judging by their track record, there’s actually a fairly high chance that they will. But I’m going to cross my fingers that it turns out well when it releases next year.
