After the recent success of Titanfall, Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella has started up a new mobile studio called Nuclear Division with WMS’s Larry Pacey. Zampella believes that a new studio is better suited to developing mobile titles than Respawn and while there are no details on upcoming games, you can expect the first game in the coming years.

Zampella will be serving as more of an adviser and still function as CEO of Respawn Entertainment. Both studios will be located in San Fernando, Los Angeles and currently employ 12 staff members.

Speaking to Venture Beat, Zampella stated that, “If you look at where we came from, developing games with small teams, this is the way to get back to that. You can get back to the core of what matters to you and the values of what makes a game great.”

As for Titanfall, it will be receiving its first DLC in May with Expedition. What are your thoughts on Zampella starting a mobile studio? Let us know in the comments.
