Return of the King: Black Isle Studios is Back!

Posted By | On 22nd, Aug. 2012

Bioware exists today as one of the foremost RPG developers of all time. With the Mass Effect series, and even Dragon Age, they’ve created a humongous market for their games in the console era.

However, at one point in history, when they were still the guys who resurrected Dungeons and Dragons games for the PC with the highly successful and acclaimed Baldur’s Gate series, they had competition.

That competition was Black Isle Studios, who created some of the foremost legendary RPGs that ever walked the planet Earth. Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale alone would make a development studio today. Sadly, they were shut down by Interplay shortly after they had their D&D license revoked. It was on the darkest days in gaming.

But now, though it seemed impossible, Interplay has resurrected Black Isle Studios.

It may seem like an elaborate troll but who cares? There are images. There’s a site. Mark out, and don’t stop, people.
