Even if there’s a new general Direct this June, as rumors claim, Nintendo isn’t waiting to drop some release dates. It was announced on Twitter that Rhythm Heaven Groove will launch on July 2nd for Nintendo Switch. There’s also some short new gameplay from the song “Slice N Dice Kitchen,” which involves catching fruits to the beat.
As the first new entry in the series since 2016’s Rhythm Heaven Megamix, Rhythm Heaven Groove sticks to the series’ formula of WarioWare-style minigames. Voice acting is also present, with Nintendo leaning into the Tomodachi Life-esque lilting tones.
Thus far, it’s unconfirmed just how many songs will be in the game, although we’ve seen sequences involving geese, cats, aliens, and much more. If that sounds like your kind of jam, then Rhythm Heaven Groove may be worth watching out for.
Of course, this only lends credence to insider NateTheHate’s reports on Nintendo’s Summer release line-up, with Splatoon Raiders and Switch Sports also allegedly on the way. A new “classic style” Star Fox is also expected, with an announcement reportedly happening this month.
And then of course, the big one – a rumored remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, allegedly launching near the Holidays. As always, stay tuned for more updates.
