RIVE Announced by Two Tribes for PC and Consoles

Toki Tori developer returns with a new 2D platforming shooter

Posted By | On 29th, Jul. 2014

Though Two Tribes B.V. went bankrupt following the release of Toki Tori 2, the studio has since been rebooted by its parent publishing company and announced a new 2D shooter/platformer in RIVE. It will be heading to PC and consoles though specific platforms haven’t been revealed yet.

RIVE is essentially an old school style shooting platfomer which sports 360 degree shooting and sees you fighting against an army of robots. You can combat the robots by collecting and using different “hacks” to change their behaviour. How this works out for you can be seen in the above reveal trailer. This looks to be a more fast paced shooter than something along the lines of Mega Man but we’re interested to see where Two Tribes goes with this.

Two Tribes has also announced that RIVE will be playable on the show floor at Gamescom 2014 in Cologne, Germany so stay tuned for more details on the same in the coming weeks.
