Road Redemption Alpha Now Live, Footage Emerges

DarkSeas Games' spiritual successor to the classic arcade title is shaping up.

DarkSeas Games’ Road Redemption, which serves as a spiritual successor to the highly popular action racing title Road Rash, is now in the alpha stage and access is available for free to backers. Check out some short footage of the same which released over the weekend. Naturally because it’s an alpha, the game will still have its fair share of bugs and errors.

For those who didn’t back the project, you can get in on the alpha by paying $40. This will also grant access to any future versions of the game including the beta.

Road Redemption will feature the same motorcycle combat and carnage of the original game but will add improved AI, destructible environments, ragdoll physics, online multiplayer, upgraded controls and much more to the mix. It’s slated to release in August for PC with a Wii U port happening a few months later. Though funding for an Xbox 360 and Oculus Rift version fell slightly short, we’d be amazed if it didn’t arrive for either of those platforms. Stay tuned for more details.
