Rocket League Crosses 40 Million Players Worldwide

An amazing milestone for a great game.

Rocket League

When Psyonix released Rocket League, could anyone have guessed that it would go on to become one of the most successful games of all time? But it has- as of right now, the popular hit indie game, which involves rocket powered cars playing soccer (really), has reached the significant milestone of over 40 million players worldwide.

The impressive number is buoyed no doubt by the game’s presence on all modern platforms- while Rocket League initially launched only on PS4 and PC, it subsequently made its way over to Xbox One, and later, the Nintendo Switch as well. The PC, Xbox One, and Switch versions of the game can also all engage in cross network online play with each other, making those versions even more attractive (the PS4 version can also engage in cross platform play with the PC version).

Where Rocket League goes from here is anyone’s guess- but given its presence on rapidly growing platforms like PS4 and Switch, we can say that the only place for it to go now is up.
