In a bid to proof that Max Payne 3 isn’t part of Rockstar’s history, the developer released two brand new screenshots for the game with the following message:

Remedy had handed over the development of the series to Rockstar and the game was originally heading for a 2010 release but Rockstar pushed it back indefinitely, citing their desire to produce the best possible game as being the reason for doing so.
Max Payne 3 is in development for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and is rumoured to be releasing sometime in 2012.
