Due to the skyrocketing costs of current generation development coupled with a focus on online, the output from Rockstar Games has thinned out significantly over this current generation of consoles. That makes fans even hungrier for the next game from the popular studio, and now we’ve got an old rumor coming back to life about the next project.

It was rumored some years ago that Rockstar was working on a game set in European medieval times. Nothing ever came of that, so many assumed that the game didn’t exist or, if it did, was canceled. Well, a new user on Reddit claims the game is actually still in development and could be coming as early as Q1 2021. It is just a random user on Reddit who provides no proof outside a ‘trust me,’ but another user also found a job listing for the company that’s looking for someone to create “modular environment pieces with organic finish carefully following medieval architecture style.”

It is quite the coincidence, but considering how this is a fairly old rumor it’s not out of the blue that’s all it could be. We know that Rockstar is working on something that’s most likely an open world game due to job listings that popped up recently. Only time will tell if this mystical medieval game actually exists, but I wouldn’t make a lot of bets on it.
