Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Kou Shibusawa have revealed some of the battle techniques that players will be able to use in the upcoming Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake.

Alongside being able to do things like partaking in the Parliament, or sending out soldiers to invade enemy towns, players can also employ deeper levels of tactics by adjusting the unit types they are sending out to battle. This is especially important, since different types of units tend to excel in different scenarios, and the variety of different terrains means that players will have to choose wisely.

Players can also outfit their armies with officers, which can turn weaker units into strong forces capable of winning previously-unwinnable battles, depending on the relationship between the army and its officers.

Alongside regular warfare, players can also set up traps and make use of defensive buildings like Watchtowers, Gates and Signal Towers, each of which providing unique affects to the player’s defensive capabilities.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 24. Check out the game’s first trailer for more details.
