RUMOUR- Assassin’s Creed 3 set in American Revolution

Posted By | On 28th, Jan. 2012

Assassin’s Creed 3, set to come out later this year, is supposed to be set during the American Revolution, if the recent rumours are to be believed.

A source close to the project has told CVG that the game will be set in the 18th century during the American Revolution, a 200 year leap from the last Assassin’s Creed game, Revelations. The game will be shown and announced officially before the fiscal year ends on March 31.

There have been several hints about this setting so far. For one, Ubisoft hinted at it themselves- they were asking in a survey last year which locations fans would want Assassin’s Creed 3 to be set in, and the American Revolution was one of the more notable options.

Then there’s the fact that the ‘Da Vinci Disappearance’ DLC for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood fed players coordinates for the state of New York.

At the end of Revelations, US was glowing exceptionally in a futuristic globe (pictured below), hinting at this possibility even further.

Ubisoft says Assassin’s Creed 3 will be the biggest game in the Assassin’s Creed series till date.
